John Edward White was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He was educated at California State University, Chico, where he held jobs from groundskeeper to automobile mechanic to chef during a protracted enrollment that resulted in multiple degrees in English and one duodenal ulcer.

The writing wall (as seen above) is an organizational technique similar to that used in large scale proposal preparation.  It works well for developing complicated narrative and sub-plots, and is White's preferred writing method.

Before turning to writing fiction and nonfiction full time, he worked as a Technical Writer in Aerospace and in the electronics industry. His short fiction has been published in trade periodicals and the Long Beach Press-Telegram, has won an award from the El Dorado Writer's Guild, and has been recognized as the Editor's Prize Contest winner of the Grasslands Review.

Dog Lessons, a memoir about raising a Guide Dog for the Blind, received the IPPY Silver Medal  eLit Illuminating Digital Publishing Excellence Award.  Available now on Amazon.

Hard Reset: a Martin Gardens Novel is also available on Amazon.

And Love, Work, and the Other Things is John's newest release, also on Amazon.

He lives and writes in Altadena, California.
